  • 50 States.com  This is a great resource when wanting to learn more about our states and the cities within them.  Also, there is lots of information about state symbols, maps, population counts, and more.
  • African Americans in the Sciences--- This website is biography information about different African American scientists.  There are not a lot of scientists in the different categories but the information seems to be pretty good for the ones that are included in the site.
  • American Library Association  - Great Web Sites for Kids - This website is helpful because organized by subjects and subheadings.  Grades 3-5 would find this site most helpful. 
  • Animals This link will take you to a list of animal resources. Included are National Geographic for Kids, zoos from around the world, and online encyclopedias.
  • Authors-- This site is helpful for grades k-5 in order to learn more about some children's book authors.  The author links share the author's website or other good biographical info.  Some websites may even include games.

  • Classical Composers Archive - This website has portraits and biographical information about different Classical composers.

  • Destiny and WebPath Express This is a great website when wanting to search the Reedy Creek Elementary media collection for books and other resources.  It will also share whether the book is checked-in or not.  Webpath Express is a collection of websites to share information about lots and lots of topics.
  • Dictionary.com-  Use this link to find the definitions of words as well as the correct spelling of them. :)

  • Dr. Cite Right-- This is a website that will help you to create citations so that you can give credit to the sources that you used for projects (information, pictures, etc.)  If you use someone else's work, you MUST give credit.  That's the Reedy Creek FROGS thing to do! :)
  • Easy Bib-- This website will help you to create a bibliographic citation so you can give credit to your sources.  THIS IS A MUST IN ANY RESEARCH PROJECT!

  • Hyper History Interactive Timeline  This website is a great resource when studying history.  Some of the information is cool topics in history like Great Artists or Great Scientists.
  • K-12 TLC Student Research Center--- This is an awesome site because it shares lots of information. Just click a word or letter and "BAM!" you can learn lots about it! It is a good website for your young children because it teaches lots of information in an interesting way.
  • Kid Rex This website is a search engine that is good for all elementary kids.  It is forgiving if kids misspell their search words.  It can search any subject and find lots of information.
  • Kids Click Web Search for Kids by Librarians--- Kids Click is a great website for grades K-5th.  It is a collection of websites that are organized by subject.  Lots of different topics can be found.  It can give definitions of words as well as information about that topic.
  • Little Explorers Picture Dictionary-- This is a good online dictionary for young children, especially K-3rd grade!  Just click on a letter to find things that begin with that letter.  The pictures will help.  For more information about the item, click on it to learn more.
  •  National Geographic Young Explorer  
  • NC WiseOwl-- This is good for all kids in K-5th grade!  NC Wise Owl is a collection of research materials where you can find information on animals, people, sports, history, and much more.  Also, there are parts that have videos for young kids and the Britannica encyclopedia will read to you!  This needs a password to work from home!  (Ask Ms. Vick or Mrs. Dalton for the password)

  • Wake County Public Library  This is a pretty good website because you are able to search to see if the Public Library has a specific book.  You are able to preview the book by the brief summary and find out if it is available for checkout.
